The club welcomes another new member this month. John Yeary. As usual, I hope everybody makes him feel at home when you see him around the airport.

At the March meeting, Al Zadow spoke to the group about pilot/controller communications. Al has been a controller at Boston Center and currently works at Republic Tower. He made an excellent presentation and also brought several handouts for the members. If you missed the meeting, some of the handouts are still at the office. Thanks Al. 

Don Hayn attended the meeting and brought a bunch of check lists that he made for our 172’s and the 182. Don took the check lists that Bob Johansen made up a few months back, printed them up on the computer and laminated them in plastic, still in knee board size. The check lists were greatly appreciated by the members. Thanks Don.

As you look around the office, you should notice something new. Bernie Davidson completed an “Eagle” jigsaw puzzle. It is preserved and very appropriately hanging behind our American flag. There are 9 eagles in the picture, see if you can find them all. Thanks Bernie.

The last order of business at the meeting was to present the members with a recommendation from the board of a rate increase. Different options were presented and after a brief discussion, a motion was made and seconded and then passed by the body to raise our rates. The new rates which become effective April 2nd   are as follows;

        At the time I’m writing this, it seems as if winter has returned. The first regularly scheduled plane wash will be in May.

Secretary’s Corner                        Rich Raine

I have some sad news to report.  John Blosser’s mom, Caryl-Lynn passed away recently due to an ongoing bout with cancer.

She was a special person whose life was filled with all types of adventure.  Hiking was one of her loves.  Her hiking accomplishments included a three-week trek through Nepal, a hike into and out of the Grand Canyon, and hiking of several 12,000 foot peaks in the Colorado Rockies.  It is sad to see a person leave us at a relatively young age.

On a more positive note, let’s all congratulate John and Robin Blosser on the birth of their new son, Robert Patrick Blosser.  He was born April 3, 2004.  I wonder if this event will cut into John’s flying time.

Meetings

The Board of Directors meetings is held on the second Monday of the month at 7:00PM.  All members are welcome; however, please check with the President first in order to get on the agenda.

General Membership meetings are the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00PM
