Congratulations to John Blosser for  the satisfactory completion of his instrument instructor check ride.  Well done John.

The club received a check from the insurance company  in settlement of  N756PN and after an impromptu vote at the September general meeting, we are looking for another Skylane RG.  The board at it’s September meeting had decided upon 3 models of airplanes that we thought would be a good basis for choosing a replacement for 6PN. The Skylane RG was the overwhelming choice. The 3 choices were Skylane RG, Skylane FG and Piper Dakota. Of the members present, 15 favored the RG, 3 voted for the FG and `1 for the Dakota. Several other members have contacted me via phone & email and the RG is the overwhelming winner.

John Costello and John Koch have graciously consented to be our nominating committee again this year. Anybody desiring to run for office should contact either or both of these gentlemen before the close of the general meeting in October. Elections will be at the November meeting.

We received a donation of a handheld GPS compliments of Detective Lieutenant Peter Desposito. (A friend of Dave Ferrara) The instruction manual has been loaded into the computer and the GPS is in the grey cabinet by the door and is for use by all club members. There is even a yolk mount and cigarette lighter connector with it. Thanks, Peter, Dave and to Rusty McKenna for delivering it to the office.

We welcome another member this month.  Anthony Marro, has returned to the club. Many long time members will remember Anthony and I’m sure the rest will also make him feel welcome.

Plane Wash

The following members attended the September plane wash and barbecue; John Koch, Ron, Stephanie and Michael Uschock, John & Robert Blosser, Heinz Gerber, Sonny Borowski, Bernie Davidson, Mark Goodman, John Costello, Bob Lawson, Karl, Anna and Susan Krage, George Gaughan, Bob VanSise Jr, James Dexter, Jeff McArthur, and myself. Thanks to all for helping to preserve and protect our aircraft and to Chef Mark for cooking and Jeff McArthur for supplying the rags.  If you have any good rags you don’t need, we can still use more. The next and final plane wash of the year will be on Saturday October 15th  from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with a barbecue after. If you were unable to make any of the weekday plane washes, this is your opportunity to help and also socialize with other club members.

Get your own GACE club shirt and cap

Ed Santiago has made arrangements to have club shirts and hats made and anybody desiring to purchase  these items can get in touch with either Ed or Al through email or telephone. The shirts can be with or without a pocket and will cost about $20 and the hats of course will be less. There is one of each on display at the office.

Meetings

Board of Directors meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 7:00PM.  All members are welcome; however, please check with the President first in order to get on the agenda.

General Membership meetings are the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00PM.  There are no meetings for the summer months of July and August.  The next member’s meeting will be on Monday, October 24th 2005.
